[edit] What is SpaceSAML?

Right now, it does not exist yet. It will be a federated authentication platform for cloud/web-based services for hackerspaces.

[edit] How does it work?

There will be a directory of authentication providers from which authentication is accepted. Authentication will be performed against your local SAML server (the identity provider) and a token will be generated. With this token you can logon to all services on all connected hackerspaces without having to logon for every single web service. This is even useful if you have multiple web services at your own hackerspace.

We will also start working on integrating SAML with kerberos for services like CUPS, IMAP, etc, and also at integrating this with spacenet so you can have a true single sign on system from the first network access.
